WATCH: The southwest monsoon, known locally as “habagat,” is expected to bring rains and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, parts of Southern Luzon, and some areas of Western Visayas over the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, Aug. 17.

PAGASA said scattered monsoon rains and thunderstorms may particularly affect Metro Manila, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan, Cavite, Batangas, and Antique.
